LIMIT is a classical music record label created to acquaint the public with recordings from composers and performers, the majority of whom are Spanish, often overlooked by the industry's large multinationals. With a number of polished and select high-quality recordings, we want part of our musical heritage to become available in specialised shops and/or cultural centres around the world.
Pianist and composer Leonora Milà is the brand's flagship, in terms of both performance and composition. However, LIMIT's catalogue also includes recordings from renowned international orchestras (London Philharmonic Orchestra, Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra, Orchestre National de l'Opera de Monte-Carlo, Central Philharmonic Orchestra of China) and prestigious chamber ensembles (Berliner Streichquintett, Quartet de Barcelona), which form the backbone of our small discographic collection, wherein product quality is the fundamental preface.
LIMIT records can be purchased in the Shop section of our webpage (www.theclassicalmusicstore.com ) and Spain's major classical music shops. The distributor Silabels (Spanish Independent Labels) is charged with bringing our CDs and DVDs to France, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Holland and Luxemburg. What's more, part of our catalogue is also available on Amazon and ClassicsOnline (Naxos Digital Service). Also our products can be available in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Records, Pro Sound Ltd, Disc Plus and Percival Records).
Our goal is to implement a controlled expansion policy and make our products available in specialised establishments (as is the case with Spain and part of Europe), giving music enthusiasts and people truly interested in classical music access to talented yet relatively unknown composers and performers. This way, we feel, in all modesty, we are doing our part to communicate our musical and cultural singularity in an increasingly globalised world.
El Far Blau and LIMIT are fruit of the hard-work and tenacity of Joan Deltell. Cultural promoter and Leonora Milà's husband and personal manager, Deltell founded the company Limitada de Produccions SL in 1969 and focused on managing and hiring soloists, orchestras and ensembles from the world of classical music and jazz. Limitada de Produccions also took special interest in the discographic aspects of the artists they represented, hence the creation of the label LIMIT, along with the publishing house Deltell&Son, which centred on the sale of sheet music. With the death of Joan Deltell on April 26, 2009, the production company El Far Blau (The Blue Lighthouse) absorbed LIMIT, Deltell&Son and, above all, the commitment, principles and objectives that Joan Deltell held true in both his professional and personal life: a dedication to culture.
